Kale is a SUPERFOOD so it's incredibly good for you. I eat it almost everyday! People have been eating it almost forever. It's a dark leafy green which is incredibly hearty and easy to grow.
This magnificent plant is brimming with nutrition. It's got protein, fibre, calcium, vitamins A C and K, folate, alpha linoleum acid (omega-3 fatty acid) and lutein. So it's pretty packed with many if he essentials you need to be healthy and strong. I eat it all the time you and your kids should too. It's lovely in that you can slip it into do many recipes both savoury and sweet, hot and cold. Please try to add it to your daily meals and spread the word to anyone interested in living the healthy lifestyle.
There are different varieties of kale. Here I am using the green variety but I also eat the purple and black too. I've made a lovely smoothie recipe here that I want to share with you but kale can also be sautéed, baked, dehydrated or eaten raw. There are many lovely dishes out there so you can switch it up all the time and never get bored. It pairs well with many different foods.
Let's get to it! Here is my Kale Lovers Smoothie recipe:
1 small head of green kale (stalks removed)
1Tbsp. spirulina powder
Juice of 1 pink grapefruit
2 c. frozen organic berries (blueberries, strawberries)
1 c. frozen organic pineapple
1/2 c. raw almonds or cashews
1 Tbsp. raw coconut nectar (*optional)
1) Add all ingredients into your Vitamix
2) Fill blender with distilled water
3) Blend on high until creamy smooth
4) Serve in a mason jar with a glass straw
I drink variations on this every day and I feel fantastic. It helps me to stay slim, full of energy and clear headed. My skin is clear and glowing too!
